Personal Safety Training

Defense Sense UK was formed in 2002. Since then our team of higly trained professionals have provided training to over 10,000 professional staff in N.Ireland and beyond. We specialise in providing responsible, enjoyable, and relevant personal safety training to professional groups of people who may have to deal with aggressive or potentially violent clients during the course of their work.
We also provide breakaway, control and restraint, and aggression management training to specific client groups and organisations. We run self-defence classes for members of the public, and private training is also available.
Master Instructor Jim McCausland has been involved in self-defence and personal safety training for over 25 years. Jim is a professionally qualified youth worker, NLP practitioner and Krav Maga black belt 5th dan. He is an independent expert on personal safety training to the legal profession and holds ‘expert witness’ status to the courts.
Training Programmes
We specialize in providing Half-Day or Full-Day training programmes tailored to addressing the needs of your staff.
Typical programme content will contain the following elements as required:
- Risk Assessment – Lone workers, Reception Staff, Place of work.
- Conflict Management – De-ecalation skills, Communication Skills.
- Physical Training – Breakaway Techniques, Self-Defence techniques, Care & Control Techniques.
Programmes will normally be delivered at your place of work. Training content is designed to complement Health and Safety at work regulations and current codes of professional practice for public and private sector employees.
